Days beyond the guidebook

Boats at nine, pasta at noon and long walks above the sea.

Slow mornings, saltwater afternoons

Out on the water

A wooden boat, a quiet cove and the whole day ahead

Sea days

Wooden rowing boat moored in a turquoise harbour
Swimmers and small boats in a rocky cove

Our boat leaves the jetty at nine, with Salvatore at the helm and a cool box of lemons, bread and something cold.

Mornings are for coves no road can reach, and the Emerald Grotto before the tour boats arrive. Then the pace slows: lunch at a fisherman’s table in Nerano, a nap on deck, one last swim off Li Galli. You’re back by six, salt in your hair, with time to shower before the aperitivo.

The table

Old recipes, our own lemons and plenty of time

Every Thursday, Nonna Rosa opens the garden kitchen to guests, as she has for thirty years.

You’ll roll scialatielli by hand, stuff zucchini flowers picked that morning and learn why a proper limoncello takes forty days. Nobody measures anything. Lunch is whatever you made, eaten under the pergola with a glass of Falanghina.

If you’d rather watch than cook, our chef leads a morning at the Amalfi market, followed by a tasting of mozzarella, Cetara anchovies and the coast’s sharp, floral lemons.

Classes are kept to eight guests, and children are always welcome at the table. Everything is simple, seasonal and made the way it has been made here for generations.

On foot

Old mule paths and lemon terraces, walked at the coast’s own pace

The coast was walked long before it was driven. Above the hotel, stone steps climb through the terraces to Pogerola, and the Path of the Gods runs high above Positano with the whole bay below.

Our guide Gianni has walked these paths since he was a boy. He sets the pace, carries the water and knows which farmhouse sells the best cheese on the way. Start early, finish with a swim, and let a boat bring you home.
